I've narrated a couple youtube videos for a newer channel. Not being paid a lot but as subscribers increase, my rate will go up.
I'm in the process of hammering out a contract for this (will include AI rider) and was wondering if anyone has experience with the youtube narration rate stuff?
I'm generally going by the GVAA rate card for it but wanted to hear if anyone had any experience with this.
Thanks

Basically, I'm at $0.025 per word with a channel that has (at the moment) 335 subscribers.

I'd like to increase this per word payment in the contract based on viewership/subscribers and need a little guidance.

Do I do it by channel viewership? subscribers?
How much (incrementally) do I increase things?

UPDATE: I chatted with Dave Toback of GVAA last week and even he is still trying to figure out the youtube narration stuff.
Basically, I told the channel operator that a corporate, non-broadcast (no ads) video of 10-15 minutes is about $700-800 so to do a 15 minute (on average) youtube narration at $0.025/word (note: that's NOT a quarter!)is VASTLY underpaying/undervaluing the VO contribution.
Proposed doing a revenue share instead of a flat per word fee, that way, if he succeeds and makes ad money, I succeed as well.
Will hopefully turn this into some passive income if done right.
Would still love to hear from anyone who has some experience in the youtube narration space.
Here's one of the videos by the way.

They may only have 335 subscribers but they get 6,000 and 18,000 viewers per video and if they've monetized the site they're pulling in some dough. Disgusting images in some of those videos by the way, but that's neither here nor there for this discussion.
