I've been working with a client off an on for at least a couple years now.
They've been a decent source of income for me.
It's been nothing but a great relationship and she's always gotten back to me when I've reached out to her.
However, I'm not getting any replies from her as of late.
Pinged her in early january with a 'hope your holidays where good....etc.' type of email.
Then, not hearing back from her, I sent her another email in mid-February that was along the lines of 'Hey, I'm here if you need me with my fancy-shmancy new booth...etc.'
No reply.
I'm not going to hit her up again anytime soon but I wanted to get some input here.
How long should I 'let this be' before reaching back out again?

Based on what you wrote, let it be. You made your point and she knows how to reach you. There’s marketing and then there’s begging. Onward.

Thanks Bob.

I would move 'onward' but I have a Scope of Work with them that still has about 5 projects left.

Hey Moose - Have you considered that your contact is no longer with the company? Sometimes people leave and their projects get put on hold or downright lost. It's happened to me.

I have considered that, Todd.
Her email isn't bouncing back so it appears that she's still with the company.
I don't know.
I guess I'll 'move on' but it feels like there's money left on the table.
I'm just hoping she's okay and there's not some big thing going on like a life change or tragedy because we've had a really good rapport.

I'd be tempted to see how or what she's doing by other means, such as social media (Linked In, Instahootsy, etc.) or a general web search. I do a lot of political ads and those agency people do hop around on occasion and sometimes open new agencies. Years ago I did have a favorite client just up and die one day and didn't hear about it until his wife called me with the news. Hopefully your client is fine and just on a brief sabbatical.

I just learned this week through QuickBooks that a client had left the company. My invoice wouldn't send. I contacted another in the company to find out she was gone. I took that opportunity to go through my QB clients and mark a huge pile of them "inactive." And when I say huge...I was shocked. But some of those are from 25+ years ago. I chose not to look them up or reach out to them because some of them come back once a year and I have a couple that reach out once every 5 years or more.

Your client will probably be back to you. And, if not, don't think about what you are not getting. Keep doing your good work for current and future clients.
