Just got this notice from CBS. A new pirate show from Mark Burnett. I fully expect to see some vo-bb'ers entering!

A call for contestants for the CBS/Mark Burnett PIRATES Project (working
title) has been posted to CBS.com's home page under the "What's New"
section (left?hand side of the page, scroll down to under the innertube
box):

"Ahoy, Mateys! Want to be a pirate? To apply for the next big reality
adventure show from CBS and executive producer Mark Burnett, download
the CBS' PIRATES application form now."

Contestants will be competing for a "prize pool of up to $1 million."

Application deadline: Tuesday, 12/19/06 - application and video must be
received by Mark Burnett Productions in LA by that date.

Semi-Final Interviews: Late December 2006-early January 2007. 400
applicants will be invited to participate.

Semi?Final Interview Locations (10): Los Angeles, New York, Seattle,
Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Boston, Denver, Atlanta and Las Vegas.

Final Interviews: In LA, late January 2007?early February 2007.
Approximately 48 applicants will be invited to participate.

Shooting schedule: Approximately 16 finalists will be selected for the
show. "Filming is presently scheduled to occur March?April 2007 (or as
otherwise scheduled by Producers) at a remote location to be announced."

Per press reports, there will be 14 episodes (not confirmed). The
series is expected to run on CBS during Summer 2007.

There's nothing in the application that bars members of the Pittsburgh
Pirates and Tampa Bay Buccaneers from applying.
