So I pulled the trigger and got the Protools Digi 002 unit. Is there any "must have" plug-in for VO that would be recommended? |

DB - ROFLMAO!!!!
Steve -
Yes, on plug-ins - if you want to use plug-ins; the Waves Bundle is top of the line. There are several packages of 'Waves' which you might consider depending upon your desires and skill level. Find the one which suits your needs not your desires.
(D.B. - see I have mellowed - even though I still have my opinions...ROFL)

The bundled 7-band parametric is sweet. There's the new (free) Dynamics proc too.
Waves plug in's are very nice...a little tough on system resources though.
I'm assuming you're producing. Otherwise the aftermarket plug-ins might be overkill.
I produce all week long for a good list of clients as well as my "day gig" as CSD for a major market rock station. I get tons of mileage out of the RTAS stuff that came with PT...and some great free plug'ins that I can turn you on too.
Aside from some nice software emulations of classic analog gear the rest is really up to your own creativity. Reverb is really the only exception IMHO. _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

The Bomb Factory Essential Clip Remover can save your tail when you have a sound file that is over driven--it saved mine just a couple hours ago.
The limiter/compressors that come bundled with Pro Tools are OK, but I still use a hardware limiter between the Digi002 and the mic. |
