Hi everyone I would like a honest critique of my new demo.
I know I will get not only the good but the bad and the ugly.
So please listen and comment. http://www.vo-bb.com/demos/Mike%20Cain%20Demo%202006.mp3
Thanks to all.

You're on the right track. Lots of personality comes through which can serve you well. I'd consider redoing the first piece. I hear some splatter from over-driving the mic. I'd kill the "we are farmers" piece. It's not believable at all.
You've got something going there. Keep it up.

Being from a non-English speaking country (we practically all speak English by the way) I think I have to agree on the farmer-bit. The rest is pretty OK I think. One comment though... the very reduced lower quality MP3 sound bothers me a bit. Try re-posting this in MP3/320 kb/s or 256 at least, and knock people's socks off |

I gotta go with Edo - fine performance that was not appropriately showcased by the technical limitations of a lo-fidelity recording. Good stuff otherwise, you have the talent, for sure.
Oh, by the by.....really a minor point here - unless your shopping this around Michigan - being an old Michigan guy, I can't help but notice and comment on the pronunciation of the Grand Traverse Bay Casino and Resort. It is Tra´verse. The accent is on the first syllable and the "a" in Traverse is pronounced like the short "a" in the word "action" - rather than as an "uh" sound followed by the accent on the last syllable. |
