In the finest Mr. Burns voice "Excellent!" LOVE the snowflakes and winter/holiday theme. As an avid skier awaiting the famous Utah Greatest Snow on Earth, this'll do for now....

Diane,
I agree. As one born and raised in north central Minnesota, I love the cold and snow. This almost makes up for the 70 plus temps here in North Carolina.
Of course, later today I'm flying to Chicago where they are currently having a snow storm so I'm going to get some of the real stuff by the end of the day. I can hardly wait!

The snow theme for the holidays matches where I am sitting right now. High in the mountains with a bit more than 3.5 feet of snow early on the week and it's snowing again!
Skiers are loving it and so I am I. Been snowshoeing and skiing to my hearts conyent. It great to be throwing snowballs, however the shoveling thing is not too fun. You should have seen my car as a I dug it out... Pure white powder covering it with three plus feet of blisss.
The warm fire in the fireplace reminds of christmas carols.
Happy Holidays.
Toodles

Hm? What is this "snow" of which you people speak...?
...The latest cold-front took us from 80-degree days to icy 30s... in a matter of hours. My toes are still recovering.
Here in central Texas, we get the cold temps without any snowman-making material. Humbug. _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. For Voice Talking and stuff.

Well, I've been in your neck-o-the woods the last few days (DFW) and we got a little. |

Bob, in another month I'll be offering to trade places with you.
Here in Massachusetts, I'm enjoying a second day in a row of high 60s temperatures. I have to keep reminding myself it's December first. Although all I need do is watch the weather forecast to see that after today, it's all downhill. With any luck, we'll have a relatively mild winter as we did last year.
(Sorry, skiers...) |

Boo hiss! I don't want that kind of luck!
Bring on the snow!
I'm not is New England for balmy winters.
The more brutal, the better.
And I love this theme. It's fun to bring it out from the attic. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Deirdre,
I'm with you. It's just not winter without a load of snow and temps below zero (F) at least a couple of times a year. _________________ Be well,

Okay...okay... we are suffering a cold spell in San Diego. It has fallen into the low 40's and 30's at night. I finally had to turn the furnace on. The bright spot is... the streets are all cleared of snow and ice (as always)... I don't have a snow shovel and bags of rock salt stored in the garage... and their talking about things warming up in the next few weeks. Life is good!

Bailey,
This weekend (the Good Lord willing) I'll be in Chicago narrating a Christmas concert at my alma mater (Trinity International University) and the following weekend I'll be in Los Angeles on a short business trip. So I get to experience both sides of the equation in a matter of 7 days. _________________ Be well,

The snow arrived this morning, Bob. We're keeping it cold for you. |

I spent the morning getting the snow thrower gassed up and ready to roll.
Of course the temperature is 67 right now but that is about to change as a cold front enters the area. A drop of 20 degrees predicted with the white stuff on the way for Monday.
There is nothing like the first snow fall of the season. |

You'll probably appreciate this quote from Rush drummer Neil Peart:
Quote: | The cold, crisp air and the thick shroud of snow create a very magical atmosphere in which to work, especially walking back at night when the full moon gleams on the diamond-dusted snow. Some people have nothing good to say about winter, but I find it very beautiful. One night Larry and I borrowed a pair of snowshoes, and went out walking on the frozen lake. The moon shone down on the bluish snow almost like daylight, and the dry air was so cold it pinched your nostrils shut. That might sound like a nightmare to you, but to me it was a dream-world! |
I've been in some cold temps (to me, anyway --- maybe 15 degrees or so) and seen some ice and little bit of snow...but I can only imagine the kind of environment he's talking about. _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. For Voice Talking and stuff.

TC,
I can hardly wait to get there. I'm at the airport now, though I still have a couple three hours to wait for my flight. _________________ Be well,
