For those with ISDN, which long distance provider do you use? Do you mind sharing rates? Is there a monthly commitment?
Thanks! |

My understanding from my equipment supplier is that you need to use one of the Major phone companies (Sprint, MCI, ATT) for your long distance service. Only they have the strength of signal to carry it cleanly all the time. B.S.? I don't know.
I've got Sprint and it costs me just under $15 a month for the privilege of having their service (I've used them ONCE in 3 years since most calls are incoming). I understand Qwest, which provides my main numbers as well as my ISDN lines, is now offering high enough quality service for only $5 a month, so I believe I'll switch.

MCI works fine for me, Verizon had serious problems with their long-distance service as far as ISDN lines |

When I first got ISDN in 1994 I believe the phone company in Lexington was Bell South. They sold out to Verizon. Verizon sold out to Alltel, and about six months ago Alltel sold out to some outfit called Windstream. Service was/is fine the whole time.
By the way, the price has increased from about $32/month to $52/month in 12 years.
I've never been in a position to "choose" which provider to aquire ISDN from...just happy we still have it here.

I dropped the long distance for my ISDN more than a year ago. My clients all call in to me. I make no outgoing calls with it. |
