I am in the process of designing/building a studio in the basement, and was contemplating getting an ISDN provider/service while it can still easily be done. Verizon is our home phone provider, but they do not return my calls/emails. It seems as though, reading thru past posts here, that getting ISDN can be a major pain, or it can go incredibly smoothly, depending on the provider/location.
Does anyone have any experience with Digifon as an agent in setting up ISDN service? If so, what are your experiences? It seems that they know who to call and how to get it done, although their fee is $400 on top of the installation fee.
D: If this topic would be better served in "GEAR" feel free to move it...
Thanks, fellow voicers.

Jeff,
My experiences with Digifon have all been through using them to patch my SourceConnect service to someone else's ISDN. I've been VERY happy with their service. But, I understand that doesn't directly address your question. I can say that Dave is a very easy guy to reach and talk with. Why not just give him a call and talk about what you need? _________________ Be well,

Digifon (David is it?) was very helpful with me in selecting and setting up my Prima LT three years ago. He also gave me the basic advice I needed to get my ISDN lines on my own through my local phone company.
It should be easy for you to get the lines on your own. You'll proabably have to go through the business office instead of residential. They'll need to see if there's a pair of wires available on your "pole", and there may be some distance issues between you and the nearest switching station. (Remember that you only need one wire per ISDN phone number, so a pair is all you need for the two numbers.)
Phone companies run ISDN lines all the time for radio stations, sporting events and the large computer networks that still rely on them, so you should have little trouble.

Thanks, guys for the info. Appreciate the help. Verizon finally called me back today (after a week of waiting...) and they are checking to see if they can do it for me.
