I only signed up here a couple of weeks ago and this is my first post. I thought maybe some of you might enjoy it. For the last month I have been exploring the possibility of getting into VO. I've been doing web searches, tracking the VO BB, reading James Alburger and doing a lot of practicing. All of this on top of a full time job.
This morning my wife informed me that when she woke up she could have sworn that the radio was on, only to discover that I was talking in my sleep doing a comercial.
Thats not the scary part. What was scary was that I was doing a spot for my psychic Mother in law. |

That's a funny story. Great way to get your exercise done too! Welcome aboard. I recommend you spend some time pouring through the archives here. There is an entire education in all things voiceover available here for those willing to poke around. _________________ Joe Rodriguez, Bilingual Voice Actor | The Voiceover Thespian Blog |

That was a great story! I have to say that it's been my experience when you're doing what you love to do and you're willing to put in the work to do it - you'll get all kinds of little "signs" that tell you, you're on the right track......for me personally - not the least of which is that I'm actually happy.

Thanks to all for the welcome and support. This has been a fantastic source of information and inspiration. I have done a lot of searching and there is no other place I can find that has as much up to date information on VO.
The atmosphere created here has encoraged me in my endeavors and created a desire to be a part of a very special family.
Again thanks to all on this BB for your invaluable support and information and especially to DB for creating such a wonderful site. |
