|
|
I somewhat rushed this project(no ones' fault but my own.)
I REALLY don't want to have to take the time to re-record/edit/mixdown.
But, when I was finished- Iwas really not pleased with the results. In my rush and not paying attention, I noticed times of my accent coming through.
This is for a webpage, so listeners will likely be listening on cheap computer speakers rather than Boze Wave.
Re-record, or go with these sessions ??
Input please (Good, Bad, or UGLY.)
Thanks,
Don
P.S.- I am CHALENGED when trying to post a link .

Don, if the client is satisfied as is, then it is completely up to you. Personally, if I was not satisfied that it was the best I could do, I would re-record it. That's just me....I've always been somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to my doing things. I don't hold the same standard to others...just myself. But if I did something and thought I could have done much better (realistically speaking of course...not wishful thinking), then I would be compelled to re do whatever it was...in this case...re-record it. I'm not saying you should or shouldn't. I realize that I'm the way I am and some consider it a bit OCD.....hahahahahaha _________________ TG2

Don, this will be a representation of your work as long as it's on the web. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

I agree. If it's not something you feel comfortable and confident with...I'd change it. I may be off-base, but if you felt the need to ask about it, it means you probably should.

Don,
From time to time, I have had very large projects completely finished and ready to send when, converting to mp3 and listening to playback, noticed I really lost the character on a sentence etc. Somehow they had gotten got past me several times. The temptation is to say " well, that's good enough for (insert usage here). But that's the amatuer's way out.
You said all comments welcome whether its good, bad or ugly.... This will be the ugly one!
Never....NEVER...let anything out of your studio that you are aware is "flawed" in any way. It doesn't matter...period. Recut it. You are sending your reputation as a professional... not merely a vo for a web visitor with cheap speakers.
But I strongly suspect you already knew that.
Dave
(FWIW) As I reread my post I realized this may come across a little strong to other readers. Just so you know...Don and I are friends and neighbors (Uhhh, we still are....right Don?) so I took the liberty of being a little more direct than my usual docile self. _________________ . From time to time my husband DeWitt goes through his portfolio and tears up or burns paintings or drawings he thinks do not meet his standards, even if they were done in the past.
Harsh? You bet. But he doesn't want junk in the collection of his works should he —God forbid!—be hit by a snowplow or something.

Hey Don,
Maybe we need to pay the man a visit and "explain" a few things to him.
Stay warm and dry!
