TC - I'm totally jealous!
This is what I'm really hoping to set up...in the next year or so.
Interesting that you talked about the fan noise. The last studio I was working at had the same issue....our time was also about 15 minutes with the door closed and them letting some air in!
RE: JeffreyKafer's comment about the glass: we never had any issues with reflection off the glass either.
Melissa: I was surprised about how a lot of our fellow Boarders were in an "open-Space" environment as well!...I don't have any kids, but I have 2 loud cats, a husband who loves CNBC, my 89 year old mom who calls for me quite often (and her aide)...I'm recording in a padded NON-walk-in closet...but hey it's working for now & clients seem to like the sound!
Right now I'm in the process of re-arranging stuff in the room the closet is in to make it more workable.....Necessity is the mother of invention!
Thanks SO much to all of you who sent pictures - It really is great to see where all this creativity is flowing from!

I'm posting a link to my booth that was listed in another thread but I thought I'd add it to this one too.

It's a Gold Series 4x4 from vocalbooth.com. I had 3 cable ports put in it and the ventilation system rocks keeping me nice and cool during long sessions. I use a ballast free flourescent lamp, bass trap, hard wood floors, mic stand (duh!), Neumann TLM 103, headphones station, remote toggle for my recording gear, on air console to mute the monitors when the mic is on, buttons to answer calls through my Telos One or home phone and two windows too!
Check it out. _________________ David |

Liz,
Thanks for the kind words about my "Assistant." His birthday is tomorrow (2-18). He'll be two years old and his vocabulary is nearly 100 words. He's amazing for sure.
Have a great weekend! _________________ David |
