Does anyone know how to do this? I'm using a Mackie Spike audio interface and Adobe Audition on a Windows XP Media Edition computer. I record my speeches at Toastmasters on a small handheld digital recorder and just want to archive them. Nothing urgent. Just wondering if anyone knows because so far I haven't figured out how to do it.
I'm betting Frank knows, if anyone does. |

What I've done in the past is use a Y cable (RCA to 1/8") then used an adaptor to connect the tape player output to the Mic input on the soundcard. Then just hit record on Audition and press play on the tape player.
Hope that helps. _________________ Donovan

Waht kind of output do you have on the digital recorder? Headphone jack 1/8", 1/4", Line Out?
Then using the appropriate cable, (and a few other minor things, it is as Donovan said, plug it in, and hit record (AA) and play (Player/recorder). You might have to play with it a few times to check levels, But it is that simple.

headphone jack out to line in. Adjust the volume settings in the sound control panel so you don't go above +0 db and hit record. Easy peasy.
Be careful if you decide to use the Mic input instead of the line input. Mic input may be amplified depending on your soundcard. _________________ Jeff

Thanks fellas.
For some reason I was thinking I would need to run it through my audio interface in order to record in Audition, but actually if I connect directly into the computer and change the sound card settings in Audition, it does record. Thanks. |
