Ever since my computer made me update to Quicktime 7, I've been having trouble. Audio it tries to open results in a "plugin failed to initialize properly" error and that broken link graphic. Other people tell me the audio loads and plays just fine. I've tried reinstalling Quicktime a few times, and nothing helped, but then randomly it worked once, and now I'm back to the error messages. |

You might want to check whether your associated filetypes are set correctly. Also it is a known fact that there were some serious bug issues in version 7, so make sure you upgrade to version 7.0.3. I just de-installed Quicktime and then re-installed it... works like a charm.
Good luck! |

Yeah, the latest version is what I've been upgrading to...and like today, for no reason at all, and without even a reboot, it's working fine. I don't get it...
where are the settings for file types again? |

I use a Dutch language version, but it seems to me that the last option in the second drop-down menu is where all preferences are... you need Quicktime-references and then set all appropriate file types. |

This probably isn't much help, but I found that when I installed Quicktime on its own, it caused a lot of problems on my PC and I uninstalled it. Later I had to install iTunes, which comes with Quicktime, and never had any ensuing problems with Quicktme.
I don't get it. The world has too many moving parts these days |
