Among my blessings this season I count vo-bb. I did my first vo job in 1974. I had no guidence, nor resources. It turns out experience is the slowest teacher, not the best. Had I access to like-minded comrades, resources, and a supportive community, as is available at vo-bb, I would have progressed more rapidly. vo-bb is as valuable for the seasoned professional as it is for those who are just getting their beak wet. I'm grateful to DB for her commitment to excellence, and to all of you who support and enjoy this unique gift.

Back at you Patrick and to all the voices that DB has assembled here (yes you DID) Merry Christmas.

May you all get Neumann's under the tree.

Pat,

Yes, this bulletin board has been a wonderful discovery, perhaps the very best addition to my life in 2006. (And like you, I did my first professional voiceover job in 1974.)

Thank you, Deirdre, from the bottom of my heart to the top. I'm so very grateful for what you've provided for us here.

And thanks to everyone here for adding so much to my life this year. May we all have a great new year.

We don't take VO-BB for granted and we don't take Deirdre for granted. Perhaps we don't say thank you enough and we're indebted to Pat for the reminder of how things were and how things are now.

Thank you Deirdre. May Christmas and new year for you and yours be the stuff of dreams.

Yes, as a matter of fact, my Uncle Neumann! He does like to sleep under the tree. It took until March to get all of the ornaments off of him. Although he did slightly resemble Keith Richards!

Happy Holidays!

VO can be a somewhat lonely profession at times, but VO-BB has many of the benefits of working in a larger, friendly company. If you need advice there's someone down the hall who's been there and done that to lend a hand. Someone's always popping their head in to your office with a joke or to show off their latest project. There's the watercooler where we can share a little gossip about foks in and out of our profession. You put in a call for IT and five guys run in with somewhere between one and five ideas of how to fix it.

Dierdre's got the corner office with with the stereo going full blast with some crazy techno beat. She often prowls the hallways to make sure we're working well together. We usually can hear her coming because the decorative metal chains on her boots and clothing have that certain ching-ching noise of a gunslinger's spurs.

Banksey's turned his office into a bit of a shrine with Union Jack items everywhere, a racy picture of Princess Fergie on one wall and a rather extensive libations station on another for pouring and sharing.

Occasional soft explosions, flashes of light, and not so gentle expletives waft out of Frank's office every so often as his latest version of iSpeek goes up in smoke. He comes out into the hallway, labcoat smudged and hair a mess, yells "I was THIS close!", and storms back. He seances with Alexander Graham Bell and Thomas Edison on a regular basis to get their input.

Well, I bet you can imagine the rest of the offices down the hall. What's nice is you can close the door and get complete solitude for a while, and when you're in need of company, you just hop into the hallway and say something outrageous.

Thanks to all for being my office co-workers. Enjoy your weekend!

Bruce
