One of my Mac tips and tricks links told me about a feature on the newest iTunes that lets you create totally separate libraries, such as production music, sound effects, and your golden oldies, with the click of a key, and since I have several thousand of each of those, I was interested in trying it. But the darned procedure only worked about 10% of the time!
While searching for a cure I discovered Libra. This shareware program creates totally separate iTunes libraries easily, and reliably. I can now switch quickly between "Work Files" where I store my commercials, narrations and such, "Production Music & SFX", and "Our Music" which is every bit of personal music we own. I can then break them down within each library using the iTunes playlists: My Demos, VO Talent Demos, On-Hold Music, whatever.
It's $10 and I'm enjoying it.
