I've always wondered how we sound to people in other parts of the world. I had a really hard time understanding those kids and I am usually good at understanding dialects.

It reminds me of the 80's band Big Country. They had an interview on MTV (back when they actually played music), and their Scottish accents were so strong they put up subtitles.

For me, that spot's a trip on two levels. The first is just trying to understand them so I can enjoy it. I finally got the gist of it at the end of the first viewing...understood maybe four more words the second time.

The second is the animator side of me, which twitches at the thought of getting audio like that with the expectation that I'll lip sync to it. Gasp

England and America are two countries separated by a common language.

I think there are some Brits that would contend those kids are speaking Yorkshire and NOT English. Wink This is what I heard every day when I lived there. Just not quite that thick (of course I'm not perfect on my dilects. That could be from somewhere closer to Blackpool... Banksey??).
