I can't figure out what's wrong! Here's the scenario:
My client had me do voice prompts at a Sample Rate of 8000 and saved as a 'vox' file. No problem.
Then he asked that I find a female to do the same, and she sent me the file as a vox, I individualized the prompts and saved them to a folder as a vox file. But her quality is markedly different (very bad).
The Properties of each audio file are the same from what I can tell. Somehow, though, hers just don't sound the same. Mine are louder and clearer, and hers have an "echoey" quality, even after normalization. |

There could be any mumber of reasons for this. Suggest you have her send you the raw files and you convert to vox and 8000 to remain consistent. _________________ Jeff

I'm thinking this is what happened. It has been "double converted". I should have had her send me .wav files (or mp3) and then I convert to vox (as you suggested).
Thanks for the input; this phone audio format is really frustrating and it sounds like CRAP. |

The 8000 kHz sample rate, vox format is a consistent bugaboo in our line of work. There have been several discussions here about it-- the archives may be of some assistance. _________________ DBCooperVO.com
