Vocal Processing You Can't Live Without...
But I can. My very cool Behringer UltraVoice VX2000 just got listed on Ebay (One owner--low miles): http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:US:31&item=330095449713
It has a ton of bells and whistles which are enumerated ad nauseum in the Ebay listing and is perfect for voice over recording. Last week I realized that the only feature being used was the compressor so the other features were overkill for me. |

What are you replacing it with, Chris?

An Alesis Nanocompressor--they don't make them anymore. It's about 5X5 inches square and about an inch and a half high. I found it in one of the jillions of boxes of cables and connectors that take up way too much space in the office closet... forgot I even had the thing. It works and sounds great for such a tiny box that Guitar Center was selling for fifty bucks.
What promted this was an effort to downsize: replaced the aging tower with a new laptop and now the equipment rack needs to be cleaned out. A digi001 (replaced by an Mbox), the VX2000, a rack-mount AM/FM radio and a Degidesign Universal Slave Driver that has no use anymore. So goodbye rack-mount, hello eBay! |
