I think I can speak for many of us - we are pooped! Since I have to speak tomorrow, I am not out partying tonight - back in my room early - wait - it's nearly 11 - that isn't early!!
Bob Bergen did a wonderful show for us tonight - tres tres funnay.
And our Deebs did a fabulous job on her presentation today. What an introduction into the realities of the VO world for games. That was after a super session with MJ Lallo - and a very fun and informative session with Bettye Zollar. Greg Best got us started off with a potload of negotiation techniques. And that was just today.
We've been at this since Tuesday night when we all started to put faces to avatars and names.
I was thrilled to be involved in this - have learned lots and have been very inspired. Plus I will join in the cheer that rose up from the assembled crowd as he tried to introduce Bob..."Dave is a hottie!" (Stop blushing, Dave, you get this all the time.)
Oh - Deirdre's outfits were amazing - she chose a black, white and red theme for the event. I think my favorite was the long black coat with the lacing up the back.
No image editing software on this computer, so the pics will have to wait until I get back.
Pumpkin time in just a few minutes - so I'll sign off for now... _________________ Playing for a living...

What I learned at VOICE 2007:
Todd is even funnier in person.
Courvo is even cuter in person.
Deebs is even cooler in person.
VO-BB'ers are even friendlier in person.
Oh, yeah, and...arid climate + smoky casino = painful choice for VO convention!
This has been an amazing, jam-packed-with-information, hilarious, week. I have laughed, learned, talked, listened, and been hyper all week. We're all running on adrenaline & I guess we'll recover next week.
How in the world will they top this next year?

Oh my head. Just got to my room....a subset of the VOBB Tribe went to ride the Speed coaster (waaaaaaaaay fast and Waaaaaaaaaay fun - glad I didn't eat a big dinner)...THEN went to a karioke (sp?) bar ..It's 4:50 AM my time ....Now I know why "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas"....you fry your brain here so you just can't remember what happened....but man...a LOT of great teaching, sharing, encouragement and bonding with the other members of the Tribe...THAT I will remember! i was just thinking about what an amazing "virtual water cooler" we have here....how many of the presenters this weekend (and the MC) are members of our little community...what a great resource we have....Vo_BB was well represented this weekend...Big Thumbs up for everyone's sessions....and we all looked ever soo cool with the VO-BB matching t-shirts (thanks Dave!)
Going to turn the lights off and go into a coma now...

This thread has been a "must watch" all week. "Virtual Vegas"?
So cool that you all got to meet and listen to "the Don".
I'm shooting for next year. Just have to figure out how to get all my clients to let me go for a week. Since I produce about 80% of what I voice
the "lap-top" thing won't really work for me. On the bright side I'd sure have plenty of voices to pick from for multi-voice spots!
Cool to put a face on Donovan after our email trades over a gig that he auditioned for and grabbed.
Enjoy everyone! _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

I haven't posted as yet but let me add my 2 cents worth. It was a great week, the organization was flawless, especially since it was the first one, although I will say there wasn't enough time alotted for shopping, I learned a ton of stuff, laughed until my sides ached, and made some great friends, a word I don't throw around lightly. I walked into a room with about 200 people in it and wasn't nervous at all because I new I had friends I had yet to meet scattered throughout. I learned so much from all the vo-bb'ers here and maybe even helped a few people with questions of their own. This is a wonderful community and we are lucky to have it. Word has it, the next one may be at sea or it may not be. Frank assured me it would have unbelievable internet access. It's been great and I make attending next year a goal. It would be cool if it was in Chicago though. See you then! _________________ Pam Tierney

What is that, 8 miles from your home? Philip, I'd be worried you're stretching your travel budget a bit thin. _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog

Hey, Boston's nice for 2008, too. I'm sure DB wouldn't mind.
Thanks for all the pics. It's a poor substitute for being there with all of you, but today's our 23rd wedding annniversary, so I'll be thinking of you all as I'm enjoying a nice dinner out with my bride this evening.
Yeah, you're right. I won't be thinking of you tonight. But maybe tomorrow. |
