A little rant.
A few weeks ago I was approached in a bank by a very keen employee asking me if I wanted to apply for a credit card. I have a UK issued card but never applied for a local one (I'm based in Japan) so I thought "Why not" and filled out the application and was given a ¥500 gift token for my efforts.
So far so good.
Yesterday I get a letter from the company saying that I had been refused. No details were given, but I'm assuming that it's because - like most us - I don't exactly have a stable income or indeed a job that anyone in this country seems to understand.
.....And the irony?
I did the sound logo for the company for all their TV and radio commercials! :x
Sigh!
At least I still have the gift token.

I could smell it comin'.
Back in the late 70's I was working for Sears, but couldn't apply for a Sears credit card until I worked there for three months. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

That's like here. We have to fill out Quaterlies for our Federal and State taxes guessing how much we'll make in the coming year. I went to the accounting firm of Kreskin, Blackstone and Randy. They can't get it right either. I'm glad I have my credit from the radio days.
(I had to edit it because I typed "radio says" above instead of "days" and it was driving me insane to think that Google would store this forever and I'd be ashamed that I'm an idiot and...gotta go!)

Hey, if ya lose yer check, Kreskin will have you hold on to one end of a hanky while he holds on to the other end - - and in 60 sec or less, he will find your check for ya! And then, the Amazing Randy will say it's all a trick. |

Good catch Bill -- but Google will still pick up "Quaterlies" and store it forever, and all the people from Connecticut who are looking for income tax info will find it |

That's why I used the stage name "Dan Williams" on the internet.
The IRS/FBI/DEA/INS/DOT will never catch me! AH-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA [maniacal laugh]
I mean, come on. Who in the hell would have a name like "Dan Williams"?!?
Sincerely,
James MacArthur |
