|
|
I wrote my objections to the website that posted this one. VO in part reads:
Sex appeal.
Lust dungeon Or sexual paradise?
We’re all on the prowl
We’re all here to score
Its time to play
Night club party.
Retro party.
Space party.
Spring break party.
Our cameras take you on the dance floor; as for our dancers they’ll take you somewhere you’ve only dreamt of…
Intrigue.Desire.
Vanity forms a sweaty queue. What are you going to wear?
Steamy toxic.
Touch yourself. Touch others.
Get dressed. Get undressed.
Hey, you might never leave your house again.
So call the gang over and get fictional…
Now for the first time ever the story of a girl a boy another girl and another girl and a song and a dance floor in one epic epic dance saga."
And it pays 100-250. This is the second time I've seen it posted. The first I just deleted it. Maybe they didn't get any takers from the first post????This time I am voicing my opinion.
OK I'll get off my soapbox now..... _________________ Bobbin Beam

The rest of it aside, I must say the last line of the script is pretty darn funny. _________________ Lou Zucaro

Um, zoiks.
I may have some objections to having it posted here.
You say "satire"—
Is it for a morning show or something? _________________ DBCooperVO.com

I think it's a real ad. There are lots of clubs that have "themed" parties. I can totally understand someone being bothered by its content, but that is what the delete button is for.
I honestly see VO jobs every week that I think could be offensive to the right person. The answer for me is to just delete it. Otherwise the VO job sites should start allowing you to not receive offers that are religious, political, or sexual in nature. |

I don't think it's satire. But only the talents who have "adult recordings" checked on their profiles received this lead, so if you don't want to see "adult" stuff, I'd uncheck the box (so to speak)!

No wonder why I didn't get it. I was thinking I was being left out. |

I find that to be totally offensive and distasteful! A gig like that should be at least $300.
Shameful. _________________ Jeff

Hmm...I don't have "adult recordings" checked in any of my profiles and I received it. I looked it over and happily dumped it. |

OK OK thanks for letting me rant.
I don't have adult stuff checked, off, just so there's no question.
imho, we are so bombarded with cr@p like this, and our kids are bombarded, and there are so many pervos lurking on the web...I just want to SCREAM!!!!

I apologize- Since I didn't get the lead, I thought it onely went out to the people who accept "adult" leads. I shouldn't have assumed. If it went out to the general population, then I agree that it shouldn't have!

It's horrible, demeaning, disgusting and plain creepy.
That I didn't get that job, I mean.
(Of course, I quoted $475.) |

Interesting update:
It turns out that my complaint resulted in getting the job post pulled. The "client" changed the copy AFTER it was initially approved and I received a very classy, sincere apology from the site. It turns out that they were as shocked and disgusted as I was.
The client who posted is being dealt with under their "Client abuse" policy. I was also thanked for bringing this to their attention. In part, Stephanie's note said:
"We were collectively as shocked and appalled as you were.
Because of your help, we've been able to take the job posting down and are also implementing a "Report this Job" link to maintain the integrity of opportunities presented at Voices.com.
Thank you again for your concern and quick actions taken." _________________ Bobbin Beam

Stephanie may jump in with her own comments, since she's a member here now; but I think it's worth noting that, yes, Voice123.com has an "adult material" check box. But, Voices.com doesn't, because they have a general policy not to accept such listings. I imagine this just slipped through the cracks. (Since, as Bobbin has just made clear it came through Voices.com and not Voice123.com.) _________________ Be well,
