Hi y'all
there was a very funny article I want to share with you all in the LA Times but I don't know how to upload the scanned article.

Any tips?

The suspense must be killing you all by now.

The latest publication is "How to make money out of voice overs". It involves coaching people to become Voice Over artisits and Voice Over artists do it between auditions. I assume they recruit others to become Voice Coaches who in turn recruit others to ........ Of course the system works best if you have more in your downline.

When you have 10 coaches, yes, only 10, you become a Voice Coach Supervisor.
20 Coaches in you downline your are a regional manager, finally with 50 Coaches you are at the top tear as a Voice Professor.

"I was struggling by on $2,000 per month. Now me an my family get to go to conventions, have foreign holidays. Last Year as a Voice Professor I made $23,000" Enus - VA

Ask for details to day - Look for the person with the badge, T-shirt or bumper sticker "Voice talk now - Ask me how!"

Indeed. Yet the alarm bells do not ring when out of 20,000 people in LA hawking themselves around as Voice Over artists people are only able to name 3 at most who are earning a living.

Smash Rankin is one of LA's foremost sought after voice talents and teaches new voice talents mornings and afternoons every weekday. For those with regular jobs evenings and weekends are not a problem

If the above appeared as part of the text of an ad' few people would see anything wrong with it at all.

Brilliant!!!

I would absolutley put one of these on my car, but then I'd never make it to any of my sessions because every 7th person would be flagging me down to get in on the action!

Thanks to Bailey for posting the link.
For some sleep deprived reason (2 month old baby) it didn't even occur to me to look on line for it.

I moved to LA 6 months ago and I have come to the conclusion thatI don't really need to go on a course but the only way to meet a lot of the casting agents is to do a course with them.

I wish I was as young and keen as the youngsters at the recent Vox on the Rox.
They Tend to talk about what course I should do rather than what WORK I should do!!

Just to illustrate I was told there is a 2 year waiting list to do Bob Bergen's course. That just shows

1. How good Bob and the course is
and
2. Just how many newbies are trying to get into the biz.

Anyway I've got to go, I've got a course to write!!

"One day?" you'll stammer. "More $530 classes? What about the PJs?"

And then there's the demo....and then....silk PJs!

Lots of voice coaches and casting directors are happily separating people with "good voices" from their money.

Now is not the time to hear those two phrases slammed together.
