Hi Guys!

I've just heard from a fellow member that there's been good recent discourse about creating voice-over slates for voice-over recordings. I'm even told that somewhere out there in the ether, folks have offered their services to create Slates free of charge.

I've grown tired of hearing my own voice introduce me! Can anyone within the sound of this entry help me fulfill my wish to have a variety of slates to select from?

Thanks Wink

I'd be glad to help, Sandy

In order to create a proper slate, it would be helpful to know your name. I suppose we could just slate every last name that we can think of that starts with a G, but that could be tedious. and we might not land yours, if it's a unique one.

David,

A "slate" refers to your name, spoken as an identification before a recording.

It harkens to a film slate:

Aha.....many thanks......of course!!!!

Maybe I have been going wrong all these years and have been missing an opportunity, but I just say my name and what I am pitching for.

D'oh.

Like DB stated above,,, it is actually an audio verification of who you are, and or who is recording the "demo".
The process may be dated, but at least they will know who you are... especially if you use a cheap CD label that spins off in the CD player.

Got an email on Saturday from Sandy G thanking me for my offer of a slate and graciously accepting. I did up a file with approximately 23 slates...intros, outros, just name etc.....sent it out Saturday early evening....haven't heard a word back....don't know if it was received or what....didn't get a thanks or hated em or anything. Oh well.
