I love the cigarette-in-hand, mic-on-the-table setup. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

And the mic and recording equipment all in one room is interesting! _________________ Be well,

That's where the Sennheiser 416 got it's start in VO. Ernie wanted to be in the same room as the producer, so they got a mic from a sound stage that wouldn't pick up a lot of off axis noise. It ended up sounding good on his voice, so they stuck with it. _________________ www.asapaudio.com |

Bill,
Thank you for that interested tidbit. I didn't know. And thanks for the delightful contributions you made to our gathering on Saturday. It was a real joy to meet you in person. _________________ Be well,

It was apleasure to meet you, Bob!
I noticed Ernie was using a Sennheiser MD421 dynamic in the video.
Pretty ordinary mic. Just goes to show....it's TALENT! _________________ www.asapaudio.com |

Ernie is the reason I got into VO...NOBODY before or since ever sounded so good.
* He seemed a bit jaded in that segment didn't he?
* Maybe it was the Ken and Barbie hosts with the perennial smiles as they spoke. Ick...but fun-nae! _________________ - Peter

I liked his comment with "..if you are moderately successful..."
It looked like he was spending a lot of time away from his wife and four kids and had to travel a lot. It shows how today's technology has certainly made our availability much easier. |
