I'm trying to put together a VO for a talent showcase (video production) on a DVD. I'd like to use Audacity (already downloaded) and record my VO on home PC.

Any recommendations for a microphone that'll plug and play into my computer USB port?

I can think of three, no wait... four possibilities.

The Blue "Snowball"
Samson "C01U"
Rode "Podcaster"
Marshall "MXLUSB-006"

There are loads of reviews (just google the name) for these...but I don't use any of these myself so I"ll be interested to see what others have to say as I am considering one as well for Webinars I host.

I can vouch for the Samson C01U. It's what I use with my laptop for my remote set up. So far, everyone I've recorded on it sounds great!

A vote for the R0de here. That said, I've had latency issues with every USB mic I've used (which would include all four of the aforementioned models).

YMMV

Just ordered the mic. I look forward to it. Thanks for the recommendation Vance.

If it's making some folk sound good then my whisper into it will be something wicked this way comes.
