We all like to recommend books that have helped us in our careers. Please continue to do so! There is an ongoing "awesome books" list in the LEARN section. Add to it when you find a gem.
The problem comes with the instant evangelism that seems to infuse some people who read this "Secret" book— as though they've found the Holy Grail. This kind of philosophical conversation always teeters on the brink of religionism and I've clearly stated that I don't allow that or politics here.
This "Dallas" dude either hasn't read the rules of the board, or read them and made the decision to ignore them. Neither is acceptable. His distain was made all the more clear by flouting the quote-whole-posts rule, which he'd already been warned about twice.
That seemingly silly rule is my Brown M&M rider. It's partly practical and aesthetic, but it mostly shows that someone has taken the time to read the rules of the board.
And no, "Chat" does not equal "off-topic, anything goes". The folks who have been here a while know that.
re Brown M&Ms from Wikipedia:
Hard rock band Van Halen requested in their tour rider a bowl of M&Ms to be waiting for them backstage with all the brown ones removed. Lead Singer David Lee Roth explained the reasoning: "We have a very technical tour operation and if they didn't remove the brown M&Ms, then they sure as hell did not read that the tensile strength of the stage needs to be 250 PSI." _________________ DBCooperVO.com
