Amazing what I find, such as one Scott Shurian (scooter2 here on the board.)

He's known 'round these parts for his VO Workshops; I see them advertised regularly, and know a couple of folks who have taken them.

Scott invited me via PM to join the n00bs last night, asked if I'd be willing to answer questions and read on mic and take direction.

Not only was I witness to Scott's magic, but I learned a bunch, too. He molded three wannabes from rank word-readers to emoting budding VO talent.

And he had me read a couple of scripts in a couple of different ways, and in so doing, I was privy to his critical listening, feedback, and experience. Anyone who's done any training or coaching knows the benefits of that, from a different set of ears belonging to a working pro.

Scott has been in the business for a long time, and so has had dealings with many coaches and agents of voiceover. He'll advise on who's worth the time and money, how to go about honing skills, and what rewards marketing brings. He also coaches privately, so if you're in the Salt Lake area or wish a pro ear to bend, I recommend him! I'm going back next week!

okay i will.

right now, said (brand new) camera is chock full of photos from italy. another thing to do--load software, upload photos. (oh italy. that was so long ago.)

then i might give ole Brett Mason, Photo Poster a run ...
