Two days before the expiration of my first year with Voices.com, I finally landed a job from an audition. I've gotten jobs from auditions in the "real" world, of course, and Voices.com has generated a few private leads for me. But I had really begun to wonder about ever auditioning with the online services, because they're such huge cattle calls and I had never gotten any response to any audition on Voices.com or V123, and that was a little maddening.
I didn't lowball my rate, and I didn't answer the posting immediately, but I still got the gig. Did the session by phone patch this morning, and it went swimmingly.
So if you've been shut out so far, but you know in your heart that you're good enough, keep at it. Somebody will hear you eventually. |

You don't suppose the timing is some kind of ploy, do you, TC??
Are you ready to re-up??
Congratulations!! Here's hoping sacks are on the way! _________________ sitting at #8, though not as present as I'd like to be. Hello!

Don't think I didn't give that some thought. "Hmm... Is this a plant?"
I had actually already planned to re-up, because the private leads I've gotten have been good. But I was amused by the timing of this particular development. |

Tony,
Good for you on the job. I've been a member at Voices.com for a couple of years now. Had more than enough private leads to keep me happy and have auditioned only for the jobs that really interested me, but had never landed any jobs via auditions.
But, a few weeks ago I got a phone call as a follow-up on a job I originally auditioned for in January. They'd finally worked out the details with their script and wanted to book me. That one job will pay for, literally , decades of annual fees at Voices.com. So, I'm going to keep auditioning for the leads that I find interesting, because you just never know when one is going to click. _________________ Be well,

As one who has actually met Brett (including both of his "Ts") I can say this is, in fact, a remarkable likeness. (Small, unmarked bills, just leave them by the back door, Brett.) _________________ Be well,
