|
|
Louise popped in today because the coffee is free and there's always plenty of "things a girl shouldn't eat but must eat" to be found in the kitchen.
After she'd recorded a few voice bits I had to do a session and when I'd finished she asked if she could try the script.
While I made her more coffee she sat in my wee huttie trying several different approaches to the script.
"Listen to what I've done" she hit play and I listened.
"Ok" I said "you're on to something but you're not talking to anyone. Imagine you're in a quiet spot in the country propped up against a tree trying to read a book. Someone is lying with his head on your tummy, you're stroking his hair as he tells you about everything he regrets. When he pauses for breath you respond in a calm, caring yet almost monotone voice with your advice, the advice is the script. when you get to the tag line in the ad smile and give him a hug."
This time we both went into my wee huttie and as Louise spoke I listened. the tag line was the only weak point. Behind my stool is a pile of cushions, nowhere else to put them. I picked up the biggest one and handed it to Louise.
"Cuddle that and read the tag line again, smile and give it a squeeze." Sounded lovely! |

Strange?
I think not.
Were all directors so illustrative. _________________ . If at first you don't succeed, then bomb disposal probably isn't for you. |

Tunnock's Caramel Wafers, need I say more? Ever tried offering a Wagon Wheel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wagon_Wheels to a Vegan, they'd love one but don't have the energy to lift it. |

So, its true....you will stop at nothing to gain unspeakable power over the unwitting and innocent members of the voicing persuasion.

Philip Banks: Cute dogs and crunchy cookies. Enter his wee huttie if you dare. He'll have you hugging pillows and cuddling tag lines. Beware of this man!! _________________ Ben

Peter, I too picked up on Philip's wee huttie. (that's just funny)
Whatever WORKS, is right! There's a little director sitting in my head, saying...YES!!!! Sign me up for some of that! _________________ Bobbin Beam

Peter you better start looking very contrite because I suspect Czar Mama has her finger on the mouse.
Okay so maybe I was trying to decide if I could say the same thing right before I read your comment.
