Brett,
You are right. I didn't mean that in a negative way, really.
I'm sure it could be misconstrued as a bash though. I'll go stand in the corner.

Greg,
Thanks for getting it back on track and the great reference F. I really wish I could sit down with a true AA guru and watch the wizardry. I'm sure I don't know near enough about the software. _________________ Try to imagine a world where there is no such thing as hypothetical situations.

I was able to create a "breath gate" in Cool Edit Pro by experimenting with the gate settings in the Dynamics Processing section. It works perfectly 95% of the time, silencing the breaths and all other background noise without cutting off the beginning or end of words on either side of them. On occasion, it provided too much limiting on the beginning microseconds of a word, but for the most part, it worked great -- and all it cost was about 20 minutes of my time in experimentation.
I no longer have need for it, but it worked really, really well. |

I have to admit that the Adobe Press books on Audition are really informative in respect to the product.
Most of my dynamic processing is OTB (out of the box) using external HW. I prefer it, but unless you're willing to fork over the extra $ for Ozon or Waves, AA 1.5 and AA 2.0 have some great features. _________________ Voiceovers by Gregory Houser
