WOW !!! I'm totally blown away. Hope I'm still alive by the time it "trickles down" to the consumer level (and I have loads of money to indulge myself with cool gadgets.

A few years ago, I interviewed to work in that group at Microsoft (I work for the games division). I didn't get the job, but I got a chance to play scrabble on it with all virtual tiles, board etc. It's truly an amazing piece of hardware.

Okay, it's extremely impressive technology, but...

I dislike how the firm's founder says the goal is to have this technology on every surface of the home.

There is a point at which real people need to put their toys back in the playpen, breathe deeply, and get on with being real human beings rather than slaves to electronic media which are ultimately filters which protect us from reality rather than engage us with reality.

I don't need intelligent interfaces to help me control my home entertainment center...I need better television programming and better films: or, I need to live better so that I feel no need to watch entertainment at home. Our whole culture is skewed towards the better access to content and away from the better creation of quality content.
