I don't remember ever doing this before. I was reading a narration this morning for a video all about a military hospital that's handling some of the war's most severely wounded, with emphasis on the prosthetics program. I read several brief case studies and then came to the last one (names changed):

"Helping amputees become independent is a key goal of the Care Facility, and suicide bomber victim Brandon Martinez is proof."

It took me several minutes to try and read it, try and gain composure, and try to read it again. It was very hard. Thankfully I was alone.

I wish I had advice on how to conquer such a difficulty in studio, but I don't.

Bruce,

I'd go so far as to say it's not something that you should try to conquer, but something you should use to enhance the performance. Being able to harness that kind of pure and true emotion will undoubtalby make the final product much more sincere and honest.

I'm sure the final read is perfect!

You know, the mental image you had of Brandon probably helped the line immensely, once you could get your composure back.

But what a heck of a thing to think about as you're trying to tell the story... as said above, it's part of your "moment" for this line.
