Based on the data they have on the comparison page, I don't think so.

SoundBooth is very similar to the previous versions of Sound Forge by Sony.

One mono or stereo track.

SoundBooth is a unique tool designed to be used on a per track basis with a video editor. Yes, it has a good editor, which is based upon the Adobe Audition Edit view. If you do not mix music and/or sound effects with your VO projects at any time, then SoundBooth could be a good editor for you.

that's kinda what i thought. i really like the cool new "drag & drop" editing method for fades, amplitude, etc ... i'd imagine they'll include this in the next upgrade of AA.

it's a real shame that you are forced to have output through this device, instead of using an alternate path (like through the DAW, or better yet, your AD/DA). That would have made this a much more viable tool for a lot of folks.

I just looked at SoundBooth CS 3. It multi-ROCKS. Amazing features! Creating a soundtrack and the easy noise reduction filter, and the www interface to grab just the right sfx....WOW. Think I'll consider this one for my on the road and other than PT "sometimes" editor. Great tips in here you guys. Thanks much.

Hey Bobbin,

One of the features I like is you can save your favorite enhancements so if you like to add a little compression and a touch of eq and maybe a dash of noise reduction, you can save your favorite combination of settings and just slap it on your recordings each time! I think that's a nice feature.

Hey Frank, or anyone who knows this program....So I get this to mean that that you cannot record and produce a finished spot because you cannot add music and/or sound effects in Sound Booth?

You are learning. BUT, how many times do you send a "finished" spot out?

O.K., I do a few a year, but not that many. SB is a good simple editor... it can work well for voice only spots.

More than that, get a multi-track capable piece of software which works as it is intended.

I got that, Frank, and appreciate the confirmation. So what I could do in Sound Booth is grab or enhance the sfx, or create a music bed, and bring it into my multi-track editor, which is ProTools.
Actually, I am getting more queries to not only voice, but to produce as well.

I just want to be adequately prepared whenever the occasion arises. Thanks.

One of the ways of doing that in Pro Toodles is to set up a template with all your favorite VO plug-ins and settings. I have a mono VO, two voice mono, two voice stereo and a four track stereo mix Pro Toodles templates ready to go.

Bobbin -- One thing you can do in Sound booth, which is similar to adding effects and / or background music in Sound Forge, is do the following:

"Rather than provide a command for adding tracks, Soundbooth requires that you record a new track or import an existing audio file into the Files panel, edit it with Soundbooth’s tools, select and copy it, select another track in the Files panel and the location in the track where you’d like the mix to occur, and then choose Edit: Mix Paste. A Mix Paste window appears where you can adjust the volume of each track and preview the results. Click on OK, and the two tracks become mixed together."

This was found on:
