Jeff - always love shots of your workspace. I still use the one you took of that old RCA mike (a couple years ago) for a wallpaper every now and then. Smile

Thanks all. Greg, here are a couple of more for you. Glad you enjoy the pics. The first two were taken in my former studio (just moved into a new room over the Holidays) and the last one is the current room, as was the pic in the earlier post. Here is one more example of the PAL/416 combo as well. Please note the difference in sound from one trailer to the next in the examples I've provided in this thread. This has more to do with the post processing than the audio chain on my end.

Jeff,

Is that a marantz receiver? I still have my 2285 that was given to me in Christmas of 1977. Great set up!

Marko,

Good eye. Yep, that's a Marantz 2325, circa 1976. Recapped, resoldered and converted to custom LEDs for the dial, function and meter lamps. I got a wild hair and started looking for one last year. I wound up with six or seven, restored a few and sold them off. Now I have four. I absolutely love the sound, plus the blue dial lights still hypnotize me, even after 30 years.

Funny you say that. After looking at Jeff's pics I realized I hadn't set mine back up since we moved. Now which box is it in... hmm.

The only sock protectors I have around here are shoes. I only wear them when I leave the house. Why on earth would anyone want to put shoes on their microphone?

One only has to listen to some of the demo's out there to get the answer to your question.

In the list of mic spec's "will not work without 48v phantom power" is often a good thing.
