We’ve been busy! This post will be a bit long because we’ve got a lot to share, and we know you’ve been waiting for a long time to hear what we have planned for VOICE 2008!
VOICE 2008 will be held in Los Angeles at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel, August 8-11, with early sign-in and a Red Carpet Reception on Thursday, August 7th.
Today, January 23rd is our official launch! The new website (www.voice-international.com) is on-line and we’re now open for registration. You might like to know that VO-BB represented roughly 10% of the attendees in Las Vegas! Because you are such an important part of the VoiceOver International Creative Experience, you are the first to receive our official launch announcement. Later today we’ll be sending out two blast emails: the first will go to everyone who attended VOICE 2007 (so many of you will receive an email about VOICE 2008) and the second will be going out to our entire email list. If you’re on our regular VOICE or VoiceActing.com email lists you’ll probably get two announcements. If you’re new to VO-BB and you’d like to receive email updates, click on the subscribe link on the Contact page on the VOICE site.
We spent a long time looking at the evaluations from VOICE 2007 and incorporated many ot your ideas and suggestions. We have a larger – and SMOKE FREE – facility that you won’t believe! And because we truly appreciate the support of those of you who had the confidence in us to be part of our first conference in Las Vegas, we’re giving a $100 discount off the registration to all 2007 attendees who register for VOICE 2008. If you were in Las Vegas last March, be sure to check the email you’ll be receiving later today for all the details. The discount offer will only be included in the email that is sent to 2007 attendees.
There were many comments and concerns about the need to take an entire week away from work to attend the VOICE conference. So, we’ve moved the event to take place over a long weekend. We’ll start on a Friday morning August 8th and end mid-day on Monday, August 11th.
And we’ve expanded the coaching programs by adding break-out sessions. There will be more sessions, and each session will be shorter than we did in Vegas. Each morning will start with a general session in the main room. Then we’ll take a long break while the room is re-set for 3 break-out rooms. We’re planning for more than 30 hours of programs to choose from covering as many aspects of voiceover performance and business as we possibly can!
Sunday evening will be the first VOICE Celebrity Banquet. We’re planning an amazing evening with food, entertainment, and a celebrity guest. Complete details will be announced soon.
For those who arrive on Thursday, we’ve planned a Red Carpet Reception. If all goes according to plans, you’ll have an opportunity to mingle with some of the busiest voice talent in Hollywood!
We’re still working on the exact schedule and we’ll be announcing additions to the presenter roster as they are confirmed. For now, here’s a short list of some of the coaches who are planning to present sessions at VOICE 2008:
Susan Berkley
Marc Cashman
Deb Munro (Canada)
Julie Williams
Kathy Garver
Stefan Chinell (Sweden)
Pat Fraley
Bob Bergen
We’re in the process of talking to many other coaches, producers, and agents to create an amazing and well-rounded conference.
Our VOICE 2008 website (www.voice-international.com) is a “work in progress”. As we add coaches, presenters, and program events, we’ll be updating the PROGRAM page of the site. We’ll be sending out announcements so you can log-in to your registration profile and select the sessions you wish to attend.
All in all, we’re very excited about VOICE 2008 and we look forward to seeing you on the Avenue of the Stars this coming August!

It's great to know who the speakers are, but more important to know what they'll be speaking about. _________________ Jeff
