I am always thankfull for good service and advice. I needed new mic cables. Redco was highly recommended so I sent them a note:

I would have never believed that mic line could make such a difference. It is an obvious difference. My old line was the regular grade we all used for years.
I understand that Gotham used to be the house brand for Neumann and it's great. The TGS-QD is Redco's house brand and it is made from Canarae wire. The TGS is fantasic for the use I am putting it through. My videographer noticed an improvement the moment we used it.
I guess my appreciative rant is more about improving sound quality with the right cable as much as the excellent service from Chris and Redco.

I'm resurrecting this post after having just written Chris regarding my order.
I'm returning the cables they made for my Horch, because the rocket scientists couldn't figure out which connector is needed (and yes, they were informed about which microphone it was for and that it was for U47-style mic... the tuschels they sent me are for a 57, which is not an easy mistake to make). It took them a month to bill me (order placed on 8/31, billing occured in mid Oct), two months to get me the cable (which is understandable since they didn't have the connectors in stock) and then dangled me along for another month and a half. Since I have two weeks before I no longer have recourse through my CC, I'm returning the cables for a refund (either through them, or by my CC canceling the order).
What cables they sent me for my snakes and XLR mics work great. However, the lack of communication, and customer service force me to label them as "proceed at your own risk" and to ensure that they have the connectors in stock
Shame, I rather liked the guys.
EDIT: while I am disappointed in this order, I have to tip my hat to Chris for admitting the issue and being forthright in requesting that I return the cables I ordered for a full refund. While it is the right thing to do, I think we all know that not every vendor would be so accommodating.

NP. I've got no problem tempering the situation when the vendor is trying to work with you.
That said, if you're not using XLR or TRS connections, that is, if you're working with vintage mics (and more than a few of us here do), I'd recommend contacting other vendors who are definitely more expensive, but also better versed in the requirements for that type of gear.

When I read about folk discovering Quad Audio Cable, it reminds me that all things are not absolutes.
I have used Canare Star Quad for years. Mogamie and Belden also have a Quad product. Even ProCo has a good quality Quad cable. I’m not sure if the others have colored jackets to pick from but Canare is available in the primary colors. When I worked on film an video shoots I wanted a color that would really stand apart so I got a bulk real of Purple and make up a bunch of cable. Problem is a lot of other folks also got purple.
Bottom line is if you are serious about audio, get Quad by the afore mentioned companies, its great stuff at fair prices.

Hey Chris...
long story short, I'll be snagging one from Mercenary when I'm in Boston this March. Seems easiest this way.
That said, I'm proud to report that all the cabling that you guys were able to do were totally rocking 
So basically, a thumbs-up for you guys for standard cabling needs. For the more vintage and unusual stuff, seek a specialist or go directly to the manufacturer.
