Guys,
This nobody has been having the same problem until a couple of minutes ago. It's back up now , albeit, a little slower than usual.

Voices.com was down for a time this morning due to the need to install 1 Gig of RAM in their servers. They should be up and running now.

As far as I am concerned, to do such maintenance at a peak time is just plain wrong. Also, considering the size of Voices.com they should be running in a Clustered environment where they can take a server down for maintenance without causing a complete outage. This is bad form or just inexperience running in a High Availability environment. Hopefully they correct this in the future.

I actually was trying to respond to an open audition when it went belly up and ended up doing the "unscrupulous" thing of contacting the client to see if he had closed the audition. He hadn't. Oh, he also happens to be one of my contacts, so I guess it is OK? I made sure to tell him that it was a Voices.com lead and not a Voice123 lead. No one report me, please...

(Why can't I figure out how to make a link in my profile? I copied Hart's code and inserted my own URL!?)

Scott & Bob,
Thanks for the restraint, gents. I was reading, but not comprehending. I guess it really is all in the words.

Jon,
This incident was definitely not routine maintenance. Believe me, it was as unexpected and frustrating for us as it was for all of you. Happily, with the help of our server Rackspace, we've identified the particular issue that caused the downtime and thanks to the (emergency) installation of additional RAM (among other things) we will avoid this in the future.

Thanks to everyone for your understanding.

Glad voices.com is cool now. I've got to nip over there tomorrow to do a bunch of auditions. I love this biz! Sticking out Tongue

I love Voices.com, don't get me wrong, but I have problems with the site all of the time. I use Firefox 2.0 on a fast new PC, and this site moves like I'm on dial-up. Very frustrating. Especially since there is not enough information in the main listings to decide whether or not I'm interested. 80% of the time I click on a lead only to find it's not for me, and I've wasted a lot of time just to find that out. V123 is much better in this regard.

Also, today it randomly will switch to "all leads" when I'm navigating back and forth between leads, so I have to click on My Private Leads again to get back. For some reason, it sometimes will list female leads, or foreign languages in My Leads.

Hey, here's a thought - maybe I should TELL them my gripes, so they can fix them? Okay then...
