since this thread is already jacked eight ways from sunday - - - this was my last project:
'66 gmc custom. 3-on-the-tree, solid steel dashboard, gas tank directly behind the seat & no seatbelts! i pulled the factory v6 and dropped in a 350 short-block from a '84 camaro, new dual exhaust, (sounded like armageddon on approach) totally new electrical harness (P.I.A) & made a new bed from white oak. all i had left was paint & interior before i ended up selling it. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

So, why don't they produce these anymore? Sounds like a Darwin Award waiting to happen.

Now, which mic do you think would most clearly capture the sound of Armageddon; the 416 or U-87?

Sweet! Drove one of these on a trip a few years back. Heard a noise pulling away from a stoplight. Looked back and saw air cleaner lid in road. Had cruise control, too. Floorboarded ran a constant 50mph. What a ride! |

the factory v6 that came in those '60's chevys & gmcs was a P.O.S. now when you add a 350 short block --- you've got yourself a driver. a guy down the road has a '57 apache i've had my eye on for about a year. reeeeeally want it --- reeeeeally don't need it. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

I don't really consider myself to be an IT guy, I guess. I mean, I know how to do a lot of the IT-guy stuff (I built and manage my company's hosting network, for example) but I prefer only to tinker when necessary or when somebody needs help, because I see how frustrated people get with their computers when they, themselves, don't have the knowledge to fix things.
My tinkering has always been more centered around LEGO than things like cars
I wouldn't mind learning about that stuff, but it's been years since I've lived anyplace where I had room to do it, even if I had time for it. _________________ Lou Zucaro

So, everybody here is swamped with VO work, huh?
Little good those U87s and 416s are now!
I had a '65 Corvair. It sucked. Cost as much as a Shure SM7B. _________________ www.asapaudio.com |
