Thank you for all the kind words guys! Pura Vida indeed! Doug- my delay in Miami was supposed to be a short one, unfortunately it turned into 5 hours!! So, we could have met after all! Oh well, my next delay through Miami will be Monday night very late, and hopefully it will be short!
I'm in Costa Rica (Playa Herradura specifically) with my mom. She is working, I am playing The resort is beautiful, and very tropical. I spent day one in the pools, at the marina, and chasing iguanas for pictures. Today mom is beat after entertaining customers last night (a wonderful dinner) so post-nap we plan to go to Playa Blanca and snorkel with turtles. Tomorrow it's an all day trip 2 hours south to Miguel Antonio to play with monkeys and search for the Scarlet Macaw. I had to pass on a horse ride to the water falls in order to make time for a zip line tour of the rain forest on Sunday. Since it's not the rainy season, it's really quite lovely so far! I've already decided it is time to resume my Spanish studies after a near decade off, I love this language!
OK- this isn't a blog, so I'm off to the pools. I was updating my husband and thought I'd swing by the VO-BB to check in. Unfortunately- I already so far behind I'll just wait until Tuesday to catch up!
[FYI- look for wildlife pictures in Entre Nous next week if I get any!] _________________ Threadjackers local 420

Thanks Todd. I just threw up in my mouth a little.
And thanks Kara for that lovely description of your activities and surroundings. I'm in my office. In Durham. In sweats. _________________ Donovan

Um, what exactly does your mom do?
Sigh. I have serious viaje envidio! This week I sat in a stuffy classroom discussing the poems of Costa Rican poet, actress and playwright Ana Istarú, and you're off snorkeling with Costa Rican turtles. Lucky gal!! I have very fond memories of trying to study bats in NW Costa Rica during the Nicaraguan revolution which was just down the road....
I'm older than you btw, so you can just stop right there with the math. |

Mary,
I think it's really cool that you got to study Costa Rican bats when you were still in elementary school. _________________ Be well,

Patrick,
I've met Kara's mom. She's a very lovely and charming lady. Rather like her daughter in that respect. _________________ Be well,

Aw Bob- you are so wonderful!!!
I'm not going to tell you what my mom does for a living- it will so pale in comparison to the implication- hah!
Well, no turtles were sighted- but I did learn that iguanas like cherries and if you are holding one- you will be mobbed. That was a funny lesson, unfortunately there were no cameras to catch my paniced scream.
It's so funny to be in another country and still have the VO-BB
BTW- please send good monkey thoughts for a plethera of monkey sightings tomorrow- it is my purpose in being here!!!! OK- that and the birds, and sloths, and- well fingers crossed for many wild things! Tomorrow is my one shot. _________________ Threadjackers local 420

Sending mega monkey vibes Kara....what a cool place to be, even cooler that you get to share it with your mom. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us....as I sit here in my kitchen in snow covered New England watching ANOTHER snow advisory dump 2 - 4 more inches of the white stuff on us it's a nice mental vacation to imagine how cool it must have been to ride a zip line ride through a rain forrest!! _________________ Moe Egan
