I join with Moe in sending you warm vibes from snowy New England. Some friends of mine have a place in Costa Rica...right about now I'm wondering why I haven't gone to visit them...
(Moe - it's still snowing here in Frost Heaves, and I imagine I must be somewhat south of you, so this is just a warning that there's more comin'...) _________________ Charter Member: Threadjackers Local 420 |

The monkeys have landed! I should have some fun wildlife pictures when I return. We saw a two-toed sloth and a three-toed sloth with a baby (both too far away for pictures, but looked great with a telescope!). Then we saw a howler monkey (same issue- no pics). I was getting restless for monkey pictures when a family of white faced capuchen (sp?) monkeys showed up (about 30-40 of them). Oh my goodness, funniest thing I ever saw- they were stealing from the tourists! Once and a while you would hear a scream and see a monkey running away with food and a tourist running after them. So great. After an hour at the beach, I was washing my feet and a monkey came and sat down nearby to watch me. Maybe 2-3 feet away. I want one now .
Because of our incredible guide (he literally knew everything about the area, plants, and wildlife) I'm ready to move here!
I thought of Mary the whole time- beautiful birds are everywhere! _________________ Threadjackers local 420

I've ALWAYS wanted a monkey... seriously. They are sooooo cool.
The hubby and I are considering a trip to Costa Rica this summer. He's been a couple of times, but I've never been. Have to backtrack on this thread and see where you're staying. _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

I love monkeys also. I enjoy watching them on Animal Planet. Thei hard to have as pets. My college roomie had one at home. I went to visit once. Sarah Heartburn was her name and she was a handful of trouble most of the time.
