Hi.
I've not used this tool enough and thought I'd update my address book.
Some folks may be ok publishing, some may want to PM me and some may prefer I've no knowledge at all of their whereabouts (we call them: ex girlfriends)
At any rate, let me know. Thanks. _________________ - Peter

Peter,
I use the same username on Skype as I do here: bobsouer
But, I'm rarely on it, so maybe one of these days...
And Gizmo (and open source, multiplatform, similar VOIP program) also has the same username. _________________ Be well,

Skype takes over my computer when I use it and I have to do major plugging and unplugging after I am done using it, so I don't.
Any ideas on how to hook it up without it taking control?
I have my regular mic hooked up through a Mackie into the same plug that I have to plug the Skype mic in. One of these days I will get my Gina card installed, but it isn't right now.
I haven't had any problems with the built in sound card (until Skype), so I simply haven't gotten around to it. _________________ Playing for a living...

I'm rognog1. I use it many times a week to talk to the TERRA Project animator in England. It's indispensible! _________________ Tom Dheere - The "H" is Silent, but I'm Not!

My address is ersinger. However, I very rarely keep it open as I find it to be a real resource hog. So if you want to talk to me via Skype - you have to make an appointment so I can activate the program. _________________ Elaine

Mine is tomgreenlee, but I rarely fire it up. If I know in advance someone wants to contact me I'll have it open. _________________ TG2

I go by jims.voice
I like the way it sounds... and he "free" use attraced me. Most of the time I forget to turn it on... or I'll turn it on and forget to turn on the mic. _________________ "Bailey"

I'm feeling your pain Connie...
I loved everything about Skype UNTIL I realized it was changing all my audio settings. I never could figure out how "everyone" else mangaged to use it without a problem. At least now I know there are two of us.
It would be great if someone can supply us with the magic formula.

It does tend to be a RAM hog, but an e-mail ping will get most folks to hook up.
We had a conversation here a while back about SKYPE and the way it changes setting in a PC computer, perhaps someone can find it. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Well, I have heard enough. I had the same problem until I realized a magic setting within Skype which resolves the problem of the program taking over a computers audio settings. So without further ado; here it is:
Go to "Tools" in Skype. Inside the dropdown box. click on "Options". Click on "Sound Devices". Under the settings for Audio In, Audio Out, and Ringing there is a box which has this text next to it: "Let Skype adjust my sound device settings".
Do NOT have a check mark in this box. Click "Save". Now your settings will remain as you choose to set them, not how Skype wishes you to have them.
I use Skype for most all outbound USA and Canadian calling (I got it on this game when it was just $15.00 USD for the year). Many conversations with friends also take place via Skype. Add in the FREE Teleconferencing with up to 500 people, and it is quite a resource.
Toodles

Thanks Frank, but I still have to get in back of my computer and unplug my speakers in order to plug in the Skype headset. Any work around for that, or should I just go out and buy a USB headset? _________________ Playing for a living...
