Crazy things happen after those "Local 420" meetings Diane.

Remember those aluminum hats worn in the movie "Signs"? Place one around/over your monitors. That might help --- or not.

Also move your wires to a different angle, and make sure you have shielded wires. Currently your speakers wire is acting as an antenna. By changing the angle or the pattern you have established, you will likely lose the RF.

Ferrite beads do indeed work. Put a couple around your speaker wires if moving them, as Frank suggested, doesn't do the trick.

i've determined that it is not coming from the audio cable ... must be coming thru the power cable - or the internal amp. i'm going to try the ferrite dealie-bobs before attempting to shield the amp. can anybody recommend a brand/make/model? or are all pretty much created equal?

Have you detached the speaker wires from both the monitors and the sound card to see if you are still getting RF? If yes, then move the speakers, they are acting as an antenna ro the shielding is not good in the powered monitors.

In that case, get some aluminum foil and place carefully on the back of the monitor. IF this solution does not work... get new monitors.

You very well might have unshielded power cords to the monitor. If so, are you able to move the power cords and thus alleviate the problem? If not, you might consider, new cords which are shielded. Be sure to have no power cord or speaker cord running parallel to each other. And, good luck.
