in an effort to balance my gripes and groans on previous posts, i offer word of my first-ever voice acting representation, the lori lins agency.
can't take all the credit...a very dear friend in the chicago market put in a good word for me (or several good words, or a thesarus).
it was a case of long-term good karma payback. i hadn't seen my friend in more than 10 years after she moved back to chicago. she found my old cassette demo when cleaning out a closet, remembered how welcome i'd made her feel when she'd had to move to raleigh, and decided to check up on me.
i know an acceptance isn't the same as booking the big gigs. still...a minor "woot-lette", perhaps? good things come...to those with good friends.

Huzzahs are in order! Congrats on a big step. As I (and many others here) can attest, having an agent doesn't guarantee work but it does give you a chance at gigs you'd never see otherwise.
