Hi guys. I've been working on my commercial demo for a while now .. and I think I have a mix that works. Thought I'd share it ... but I'm VERY open to any suggestions for improvement. So if you have 'em? Let me have it.

I like the range, styles and personality mix. A little of everything which is what a good commercial demo is supposed to be. Not much duplication if any. Production value is pro. |

Great voice great performances.
Now, a couple of the more character type voices, over the top (OTT), took me by surprise and not in a good way. I know Deb is helping you with this and maybe she's privy to stuff I'm not but I might either add some of those OTT voice to a character demo and keep the commercial demo a bit more straight laced.
Now let me in the same post and without even breaking a sweat contradict myself by saying the OTT voice that you started the demo with really caught my attention, which of course is part of the game.
So if you're looking for an alternate suggestion from the 1st paragraph I guess I would say drop the Gatorade spot.
Hope this helps. _________________ - Peter

It certainly does help, Peter. I'll be keeping all the suggestions in mind when I look at things again. Thanks for your honest opinion! That's exactly what I wanted. _________________ Jodi Krangle @ voiceoversandvocals.com

Jodi,
As a consumer, a male and darn good listener, I loved your demo. Fantastic voice, variety, production values and just a good easy listen. As a novice in the biz, I'm afraid I couldn't and shouldn't make any suggestions about your performance.
I loved it though. Keep it up, girl.

Jodi,
Very tasty stuff and, though you didn't ask specifically, if I didn't know you're from Canada I don't think I would have been able tell. Peter's point about the "character" cuts is well taken, but they are few and far enough between that they don't bother me. _________________ Be well,

Thanks, Bob. And thanks also for the comment about not being able to tell my nationality. I'm definitely trying to be hireable by anyone and everyone, so that does mean a lot. _________________ Jodi Krangle @ voiceoversandvocals.com

I just love it. Makes me jealous in a good way (I swear there is a good way!). The production value is as perfect and I'm in love with that. I think I'm showing some girlie love for Jodi, heee. _________________ 006 member of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Mic. Bonded by sound.

I think it's a really great range of sounds...nicely done.
Although I did in fact hear a little Canadian in there...it's in the 'o' But I don't think it would keep somebody in the U.S. from hiring you. Unless they really hate Canadians. From Canadia. _________________ Lou Zucaro

Well, I'm not from Canadia ... so no worries there.
Thanks, Lou. _________________ Jodi Krangle @ voiceoversandvocals.com

Maybe add in sample of singing and/or jingle. No more than 10 sec. if you do 2. Maybe 1 at the front and one at the tail. A marketing ploy to surprise a prospect with your singing talent should they be in need. (Oh....she sings too?!) If you do, keep the order of your spots and only add a head or tail.
How big was his......kitchen?
Not sure how else I would change it without hearing allllllll of your other spots. I like it.
Thanks for the kind words on the Audi spot! |
