I'm looking for a good stop-watch. I currently use a handheld "Sportline". It's good but has that tiny annoying start/stop "beep" that's hard to edit out. Any suggestions on stop-watches or timers would be greatly appreciated. (with no beeps)

Open up the back of your stopwatch...you'll need a small jewelers phillips screw driver. When I say that, I mean a small screw driver, not a screw driver used by a small jeweler. Although when you think about it, a screw driver used by a small jeweler would probably be pretty small...

Anyway, you will see a tiny speaker with a wire attached to it. Snip the wire, then replace the back.

As my oldest son used to say, "Viola!"

Thanks for the tip, Jim. Years ago the station I worked at had a silent stopwatch & when it died, we searched everywhere for another, to no avail. This sounds like a much easier solution.

I found this stopwatch... Ultrak 410 Stopwatch

It says it is silent... but it weights 3 pounds... who wants to carry a 3 pound stopwatch in their pocket?

I have a Sportline Model 220 and it doesn't beep, just in case there's a terrible tragedy in surgery.
