Well our latest magnum PI opus has been released today through the Funny Music Project website. Power Salad's "The Table Near The Band" takes the story of retribution on a socially errant wedding guest, and puts it to some James Bond type music. One can practically see the father of the bride stroking a white cat as he lays out the punishment for the oaf.
As a veteran of the tuxedo trenches, I would always wonder why in the heck the most elderly and fragile guests were always seated right near our main speakers...of course there's little we can do about it but it always puzzled us - and we were a rare band that really kept an ear on the volume, still it never failed!!!
Lyrics by Craig Marks, vocal and all instruments (John Barry Orchestra impression) as well as recording/mixing/production by yours truly.

Hey Chris--did you see my reply to your earlier FuMP thread?
http://www.vo-bb.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6924
I listened to "Table Near The Band" first day it was posted and was among the first to make a comment. Fantastic job.
Question for you, relating to the track. I know you've done some work with other FuMP/Dementia artists, and Luke Ski invited me to start submitting my stuff to the Sideshow.
I've got quite a few parodies and musical comedy bits I normally perform live with tracks that I don't think I can get the license for to record, and I'm wanting to have an album completed to bring with me to MarsCon 2009. I also have a holiday-themed project I'd like to have completed so I'll have something to sell at live shows I'll be doing during the 2008 holiday season.
Do you have a set rate you charge for doing BG arrangements or does it depend on how much production is involved?
I also have a need for an all-accordion track for a FuMP tribute song. Would you have a contact for an accordion player among your FuMP friends? |
