Hello all,

Thought you might want to hear an audio test of the Blue Bluebird I recently purchased. Here's a list of the software and hardware used:

Blue Bluebird (w/it's own pop filter and a Sterling Audio PF1 pop filter in front of it)
CEntrance MicPort Pro
recorded with Magix Music Studio 12 Deluxe on Windows XP

(You can hear me goofing around prior to the actual test. Nothin' like mixing Goldfinger and a Scots/Irish accent, is there? Wink )

I am pretty happy with it. Thought I'd post it for others to determine whether they liked the sound of the Bluebird or not. It better be; it cost me enough. My local (2 hours away) Guitar Center store allowed me to test mics until I found the right one. It was between it and a Rode (believe it was the M1). The Rode picked up much less background noise, but wasn't as full/rich sounding. I tested each mic by recording into my laptop. Great way to test by the way, IF a store will let you. I was told that it was actually against Guitar Center policy (live mic testing), but the guy let me anyway.

Sounds pretty good to me, like a pro audio chain.

Heard maybe a tiny but of hum during dead spaces, but nothing that a decent noise gate or high pass filter wouldn't take care of....

Never used a Blue mic, but from what I've read they have a good rep.

Rob, thanks for the input. The Bluebird does indeed pick up quite a bit of background noise, so I'm not sure if the hum you hear is from either a)my computer, even though my VO "closet" door was closed, or b)the MicPort Pro itself.

Believe the Magix software has the ability to take that stuff out that you mention. Glad ya liked it; thought it would give folks an idea of what the Bluebird sounds like in the "chain" that I have.
