Wow ... Thanks to everyone for their replies. My new computer will be in Tues or Wed. I reorganized my work space and am looking for a way to build a booth of some sort. I've got a great list of Mic's to test.

As far as tube mics go, I use Rode's award winning K2 and it is excellent.
It's much better than than the Rode NTK because it is less sibilant and has a much smoother top end.
Reading up on user opinions regarding mics from various online pro audio sites (zzzounds.com, music123.com and americanmusicsupply.com) is also a good idea prior to any purchase.
The same cologne doesn't smell the same on everyone who uses it...mics are no different. If you get the chance to rent a few to trial them beforehand, even better. |
