Hey guys..
I was wondering if you can have a listen and tell me which take sounds better.--there are 6 of them.. ..I am hearing from others that it sounds too "relaxed".. lol! After listening over and over.. I could be more clearer on some of my words.. "advice".. etc.. what do you think? In any event, I think I am making a lot of improvements thanks to this website..
Thanks and Aloha!
Cameron

cameron ... please take this in the spirit that it is given: enunciate. "an appointment" for example, always sounds like "uh-pointment" ... there are more, but you get the idea.
i guess the question is ... does leslie like it?

Cameron... Would it be possible to put this file up with no effects, and no background music? For me... I'm just speaking for myself... it would be easier to hear your voice, and then decide if improvements need to be made at that point. All of the effects, music, and wizbangs can be added in after your vocals are improved to where they should be. _________________ "Bailey"

The best advice given to me many years ago in my early radio career was "don't puke" when you speak. Examples of such are stretching out words needlessly especially at the end of sentences... as an example "you" should not be pronounced "you-ahhhh". There's lots of breathiness going on throughout your reads (it may be good to use on your lover's ear, but not so good for the casual listener). You're also very staccato at times in your read and yet your diction is sloppy in places too. You don't have enough training/experience yet to know which words to hit (emphasize) in the copy. And lastly, if you're going to present your work for professional critique, drop all the goofy radio sound effects and countdown business. It doesn't impress anyone who's actually in the business.
Find a well qualified coach who can set you on the right path.
