I just became the proud new owner of a booth. Since I am going to be in the cave for many hours at a time (audiobooks), regular halogen lights are a no go. Too much heat. I have been looking at LED reading lights but I am wondering what sort of illumination everybody here likes. If you use LED lights for reading, I'd love to know which ones. I have been looking at the Koncept Z-Bar hi power. Any thoughts?

I've always just used low wattage incandescents in my booth but I have thought about doing LED.

One of these days I'm going to switch my boat's interior lights over to LED for the energy savings and I'll probably go with this company: http://www.superbrightleds.com/

Their prices are decent and the white range of color is supposed to be pretty good (I think they list the color temperature on most of their whites so you know where it falls before you buy). Anyway they have some products that might work for you in your booth.

Do you use a table or music stand in your room? I've found that the Super Giglight from Lampcraft works fine if you have a stand...it clips right on and uses either AC power or batteries. Very nice LED light for around 60 bucks. I bought the smaller, regular Giglight to take on the road if needed. The Super Giglight is a bit brighter and has a wider "spread" on the script.
Keep in mind this doen't illuminate the whole room....just the work at hand...which is what I prefer.
